Regarding MakeBot, it was too old so I took it down. But MakeBot was basically a Python version of Processing's GUI and API. So you should look at <a href="http://processing.org" rel="nofollow">Processing.org</a> and its variants such as <a href="http://code.google.com/p/pyprocessing/" rel="nofollow">PyProcessing</a> and <a href="http://processingjs.org/" rel="nofollow">Processing.js</a>.
