DIY Electronics

In this class, student will learn how to build musical gadgets such as headphones or electric guitars out of things commonly found in the recycling bin! Tins, cans, ball point pens, and tennis balls will be transformed into functional musical machines. From speakers to amplifiers, students will leave class as musical MacGuyvers! At the course's end, students will take home a whole collection of handmade, personalized electrical gadgets. They may never look at a recycling bin the same way again!

Students build and play their own electric guitars.

Equipment: Electronics and hand tools will be provided for student use such as multimeters to test voltage and resistance, wire strippers, soldering irons, hot glue guns, screw drivers, and pliers.
Ages: Teens, ages 13 - up.
