Cartoons, Computers and Comic Books

Who can deny that comics are fun? They have fun written all over them. But they are also a serious story-telling medium.

Comics combine colorful pictures and funny stories captivate young. Like film, they are a visual medium but much easier to make. A comic can takes an hour whereas a short film takes weeks to complete. Comics are also great for sharing with friends. You can bring a comic to school and your classmates beg and plead to read your it, whereas you'll need to bribe them with chocolate to have them read a written story.

Visual Storytelling

Stratolab comics are made using iMacs, cameras and the Macintosh application Comic Life. Pose for the shot and then snap the picture to make each frame. Add some speech bubbles and you're done! Best of all, in this comic, you are the glorious hero or the infamous villain.

Educational

Comics are a great way to engage young minds in storytelling and writing. The prose is written in small pieces so it's easy for beginning authors. However, the higher-order writing skills like plot, character development, and revision are all required for comics. The result is so fun though, it doesn't seem like learning.
